Progress report: Roshani Rimal

Roshani in white dress

Roshini Rimal, a 11 years old female child was diagnosed as Diplegic CP. She was one of the oldest of our client. She was 2 years old when she was admitted to ADC. But she left the treatment after some time. Again in 2075-4-26 BS she was again admitted to ADC at the age of 10 years. She had treatment in OPD basis since then. At first she was not able to stand and walk due to problems in her muscle tone. We set goal to prevent any joint contracture, strengthen her upper limb and lower limb, to make her able to stand independently and to able to walk with assistive devices. For our goal the treatment given to her were AOM exercises, play and functional therapy gait and balance training and strength training.
At the end of Asad , we reassessed her and found put that she was able to stand independently, can walk for 2-5 steps independently, can play purposefully and can walk for long with assestive devices.

What I felt About ADC:

Lokedra with ADC kids

I am Lokendra B.K, 19 years old male from Nalagadh-2, Jajarkot, Nepal. Currently, I am a student of Bachelor of Education  from Tribhuwan University, Surkhet. I am physically disabled and economically poor person.
On 2074-12-24, I was informed that a team of ADC is going to visit Nalagadh Municipality for screening camp related to disability before 2, 3 days. I went at the camp site and visited physiotherapist at the camp. At the camp I was the only one who was more than 18 years old. ADC had criteria for free treatment was for pediatric age group only. Furthermore physiotherapist in the camp suggested me that my disability could not be corrected rather my lifestyle could be easier with occupational and vocational training. The Board member of ADC offered me to have diploma course in computer for free. Also they provided me to stay in the hostel of ADC for free which was 1month after the camp. On Jestha, 16 2075, I came to ADC to study for the offered subject. My economic condition was not sound for the course that is why I was happy to have that course. Also, I managed to study Basic English language at Surkhet. Currently I am working as a volunteer in ADC.
My goals:
As a disable person I have always been interested to work in the field of disability. I have been trying to do my best and serve various disabled child in ADC. Last but not least I would like to serve my district Jajarkot, which is one of the rural most district of Nepal and I will always support ADC for this kind of activities.

Happily Discharged

Jharana Rokaya, a 6 years old female child from Jajarkot, Karnali Province, Nepal was admitted in ADC-CP center in 24th April 2019. The concern by her parents was that she had difficulty in movement of her right half of the body. She had difficulty in standing, walking and balancing her body due to which she had difficulty in toileting, dressing and playing. The main goal for her by ADC was to make her able to walk easily, play and go to school.

She was admitted to ADC hostel from 24th April to 21st July 2019. To achieve our goal, the rehabilitation team set different therapeutic plan and did well during the period of admission. The main treatment given to her were Play therapy, functional exercise, strength training, balance training and gait training. Also we provided her special education classes to set some basic ideas about the school. Today on request of her parents we discharged her i.e, on 22nd July. She is able to walk and play easily and purposefully. After 3 months of physiotherapy and rehabilitation program we are proud that we made her able to go to her house and school. She and her parents were happy at the time of discharge which gave us immense pleasure to serve them and other children like her. We hope to provide more and more services to children with disability.
Thank you.
